"Overall, HIMSS was not a successful show for us. We felt the audience was WAY broader than expected, and the show floor was not conducive to a good continuous flow for those in the start-up park. "

    It was by far the largest health care conference that I've ever been to. It was extremely well organized. The tech and the tech exhibition was very, very interesting. So I think this year they focus on a lot of A I and data analytics, which was really right up in my field. So yeah, it's a really great conference and Chicago is, has really nice weather. Yeah, 100% would recommend.

    HIMSS24 was a great opportunity for our federal NIST team to share about our project designed to protect genomic data and to meet with others interested in cybersecurity and privacy in the health space.
    What did you like best about the event?
    The opportunity to connect at the Federal Pavilion with others working with the federal government.
    What could the organizers do to improve the event?
    No suggestions. Great job. I loved the fact that there were water stations around and the effort to provide orientation for such a large crowd.

    Great event
    What did you like best about the event?
    The number of companies at the expo was amazing. It was amazing to see so many organizations focusing on healthcare challenges and learn about their work.
    What could the organizers do to improve the event?
    It is a large conference but a little overwhelming at times. It would be great to have a little more structure.

    Forward-thinking, more strategy aspects are needed for some of the keynotes. The exhibit hall was certainly impressive.
    What could the organizers do to improve the event?
    The food offerings were pretty limited and not exactly tasty or healthy. Props for trying regarding the shuttles, but walking seemed smoother.

    Overall, HIMSS was not a successful show for us. We felt the audience was WAY broader than expected, and the show floor was not conducive to a good continuous flow for those in the start-up park.

    I did think the pre-show communication was great and very helpful, and overall, we had all the show information we needed.
    What could the organizers do to improve the event?
    #1. Do not put your start-up park all the way in the back corner- these are folks trying to get out there with slightly more limited needs; even being a row or two over would have made a significantly different #2. Have multiple expo entrances so the flow can come from both directions with such a HUGE floor when folks enter from one end in the 5000s. By the time they hit 1000, the traffic drop-off was steep. #3. Do more to push folks into the expo floor.
