"This was my first Connect Marketplace and I didn't know what to expect."

The closing party was a blast but would have liked to see more time to interact with planners before the show. I made some connections with smaller group planners but I know our CVB would have liked more larger group connections.

    Hi, my name is Patrick Limley. I am with Choice Hotels International. I had the opportunity to attend connect 2024 last week and it was my first connect. So I had I again, I would say I had the opportunity to reconnect with current customers as well as new ones. I definitely got my steps in from the opening night at the Harley Davidson Museto the closing night with Little John. I would say the time was the time I spent there was truly well spent. I gained valuable insight about myself, the event and our customers in just a short period of time. So I really would say that is was one of the biggest benefits. We had an, we exhibited at booth 1144. in addition to our appointments, our booth was very busy. And I wanna give a special shout out to the whole connect staff but a special shout out to Daniel from Informa Connect. He was fantastic with checking in with us multiple times with updates and questions. The overall experience was top tier and I'm looking forward to connect Miami. Thanks for a great opportunity to attend this event.

    Fantastic!
    What did you like best about the event?
    The education sessions were fantastic! The session was only about bringing the WOW factor and showing the drone bartenders were amazing!
    What could the organizers do to improve the event?
    Every appointment desk needs two chairs. The VCBs travel with hotel partners often and it’s weird when only one of us can sit down with the planner.

    The ice cream social and the free giveaway items at each booth, oh, and Lil Jon, YEAH!

    Awesome experience with great connections, lively events, and great staff!
    What did you like best about the event?
    Women in Sports add on! I had the best time networking with other women, listening to the speakers, and having some fun with other like minded women.
    What could the organizers do to improve the event?
    The breaks in between meetings felt very long. It's great to have a couple of hours to catch up on work and eat lunch but more than 2 hours makes the day feel so long.

    This show is a good use of my time. We get down to business quickly and networking becomes easy after!

    Effectiveness of the appointment base system. 8 minutes is perfect for an intro and the networking opportunities are great.

    The time I spent there was truly well spent.
    What did you like best about the event?
    The drone show at the opening night event made me feel connected with all the attendees without using words! It was so memorable! In just a short period, I gained valuable insights about myself, the event, and our customers.
    What could the organizers do to improve the event?
    Everything was great! I would have liked to receive my opponents list sooner, and as opposed to appointments being spread out; I would have preferred to have back-to-backs.

    This was my first Connect Marketplace and I didn't know what to expect.
    What did you like best about the event?
    The closing party was a blast but would have liked to see more time to interact with planners before the show. I made some connections with smaller group planners but I know our CVB would have liked more larger group connections.
    What could the organizers do to improve the event?
    For the specialty one-on-one meetings, we only had one chair to talk with planners but 2 suppliers so we were either standing or searching for a chair. I think the perfect timing is 8 minutes with 2 minutes to move especially when you have to go from one end to the other. More water stations, you wanted to save the environment by refilling water bottles but either the lines were too long or it was empty. Also, no beverages with lunch. I and several others would like to see more seating and cocktail tables to eat around. I ended up balancing things, putting things on the ground, or sitting on the heater windowsills. I thought there would have been more traffic to the booths during the vendor show. The specialty market could have been clarified more as I know we had some sports, tour groups, and other categories such as association that had some of the specialty groups.

    I was unable to make any of the speakers or sessions that I normally get to when the convention is not hosted in my city.
